It's time for the 2015 Ottawa Conservation District Tree Sale. The sale is an important fundraiser for the conservation district and a great opportunity for Ottawa County residents to buy economically-priced tree and shrub seedlings. For order form, please click on the link below:
WinterventionFive Cities: Zeeland, Saline, St. Clair, Douglas and Three Rivers will compete for a traveling trophy and bragging rights of this Snowman Building Competition of the Free World. We will be mass-producing 4-foot snowmen in downtown Zeeland. The goal is to build for quantity, not quality.
Please bring your own shovel, as well as old hats, scarves, etc. to decorate the snowmen at the conclusion of the contest.
Even if you're not an experienced snowman builder, we still want you to join us downtown. Enjoy staying warm in the cozy little shops, nibbling on fresh treats and sipping on hot cocoa! Enjoy to-go specials at downtown restaurants and Wintervention activities for kids! Stand on the sidelines and cheer on our snowman builders! And when they're done, everyone can join in and decorate the street full of snowmen!

9th Annual Used Book Sale
Come early for the best selection! We have books, magazines, movies, and more available for sale. There are hadcovers and paperbacks, like new and gently used. As always, all proceeds will directly support our collections development fund - this means every penny will be spent on materials for the community!

Spring Curbside Clean-Up
The City of Zeeland's annual Spring Curbside Clean-Up will take place Monday, April 14, 2014 through Friday, April 18, 2014. City residents may place tree branches, twigs, and shrub debris only in the street curb beginning Monday, April 7, 2014. No leaves, grass or other garden clippings should be placed out for pick up. Residents are asked to not place any debris in the street curb prior to Monday, April 7, 2014. Questions may be directed to the City Services & Infrastructure Department at 772-0870.
Annual Disposal Day at Autumn Hills
When: Saturday, April 19, 2014 from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Where: Autumn Hills Recycling & Disposal Facility; 700 56th Avenue, Zeeland, MI
City residents may take unwanted items to the facility for disposal on this day. Autumn Hills will not accept the following items: hazardous or toxic items, any appliance that contains Freon, home remodel/construction debris (such as roofing shingles, etc.), appliances with motors, generators or compressors (these must be removed or Autumn Hills will not accept). Individuals will be expected to show proof of city residency. Any questions may be directed to the City Services & Infrastructure Department at 772-0870.

Memorial Day Parade & Ceremony
When: Monday, May 26, 2014 at 9:00 AM
Where: Parade route starts on Main Avenue at Centennial Street, heading west to State Street, south to Central Avenue and east on Central Avenue to Maple Street. The parade is followed by a ceremony honoring all those who have served and continue to serve our country at the Lincoln Street Cemetery. (In case of rain, the parade only will be cancelled and a Memorial Service will be held in First Christian Reformed Church at approximately 9:30 AM.)
4th Annual Zeeland Zoom 5K Foot Race and Walk

Soundz of Summer Concert Series at Lawrence Park
Zeeland's outdoor summer concert series is back again at the beautiful Lawrence Park Bowl! Brought to you by Huntington Bank, this series is FREE and features some of the best musical acts in West Michigan!
Concerts take place in the City of Zeeland's restored ampitheater at Lawrence Park. The park is located on Lawrence Street between State & Pine Streets, one block south of Central Avenue. The Bridge Youth Ministry Center will be on site grilling and selling concessions each week beginning at 6:00 PM. Music begins at 6:30 PM.

Sidewalk Sales: July 10-12, 2014 in downtown Zeeland
Car Cruise: Join the 7th annual car cruise Friday, July 11th. To be part of the cruise, meet at the Zeeland Stadium parking lot accessed on 100th Avenue south of Riley by 6:00 PM. The cruise will weave its way through downtown. Look for the cars on Main Avenue between Franklin and Fairview at approximately 6:00-6:30 PM. The cruise will end at Vande Luyster Square with oldies music, a chicken BBG, and free root beer floats.
Rotary Chicken BBQ: Friday, July 11th between 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM at Vande Luyster Square. Proceeds from the dinner will be used to fund scholarships for Zeeland area students. Dinner prices will be 1/4 chicken dinner - $8.00 and 1/2 chicken dinner - $9.00 (includes two sides and a drink).
Root Beer Floats: Heritage Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Zeeland will be offering root beer floats free of charge after the car cruise in the gazebo located at the corner of Central and Church streets.
"Show and Shine" Classic Car Show: Saturday, July 12th. The Car Show will be celebrating its 21st year this year. Registration begins at 8:00 AM in downtown Zeeland on Main Avenue. Cost to register a vehicle is $10.00. There is no advance registration. The show will start at 9:00 AM and end at 2:00 PM. This event will take place in downtown Zeeland on Main Street between State and Centennial. There will be judging and prizes for participants, including a people's choice award. The show will celebrate 50 years of the Ford Mustang.

Holland Zeeland Community Labor Day Truck Parade & Ice Cream Social
Make some noise for the businesses and workers of West Michigan! Bring the family, earplugs, and your appetite for ice cream and hot dogs! Give a few hours of your Labor Day to hone and celebrate our local workforce which has built one of the best places to live in the entire country!
With 50 large trucks from area employers participating, the celebration of area companies and the people who work at them is expected to begin on Main Street in downtown Zeeland at 9:15 a.m. and follow Chicago Drive to 8th Street in downtown Holland by 9:30, ending at the Holland Civic Center. Free ice cream, hot dogs and other giveaways will be provided at the Civic Center after the parade.
