The Zeeland City Council will hold a Public Hearing for Michigan Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) for funding for the MDOK, LLC Apartment CDBG Project on Monday May 1, 2017 at or after 7:00 p.m. at City Hall located at 21 S. Elm Street, Zeeland, Michigan, 49464 for the purpose of affording citizens an opportunity to examine and submit comments on the proposed application for a CDBG grant. The City proposes to use $200,000 in CDBG funds via the Rental Rehab program to help finance the construction of four new residential apartments on the 2nd floor of an older commercial building (occupied by Don's Flowers on the ground floor) located at 217 E. Main Avenue in downtown Zeeland. At least 3 of the 4 units will be affordable housing and held by low and moderate income households.

The Public is invited to make oral or written comments on the budget and ask questions. A copy of the budget is available for public inspection during regular office hours from 8:00 a.m. to 12 noon and from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Clerk's office in Zeeland City Hall.
The proposed tax rate will levy a total of 11.2354 mills as follows:
General Operating Fund 11.1354 mills
West Michigan Airport Authority - Voted .1000 mills
TOTAL Tax Rate 11.2354 mills
The date and location of the meeting to take action on the proposed millage and budget will be announced at this public meeting, or action will be taken immediately after the public hearing on the above date and time.
