Recycling
While the city currently does not offer city-sponsored recycling, there are some options available to residents. Ottawa County Environmental Health offers a comprehensive recycling program for paper, metal, plastic, glass as well as operating several hazardous waste sites throughout the county.
Yard & Household Waste
The city provides fall curbside leaf pick up for its residents one time per year. The city also offers a spring curbside clean-up of twigs, shrub debris and tree limbs once per year. Residents may also bring unwanted household items to the Autumn Hills Recycling and Disposal Facility once per year in the spring (hazardous and/or toxic items will not be accepted). Spring Curbside Clean-Up
The City of Zeeland’s Annual Spring Curbside Clean-Up will take place Wednesday, April 12, 2023 through Tuesday, April 18, 2023. City residents may place tree branches, twigs, and shrub debris only in the street curb beginning Saturday, April 1, 2023. No leaves, grass or other garden clippings should be placed out for pick up. Tree branches 4 feet or smaller only. Residents are asked to not place any debris in the street curb prior to Saturday, April 1, 2023.
Annual Disposal Day at Autumn Hills
The City's Annual Disposal Day at Autumn Hills will take place on Saturday, April 22, 2023. City residents may take their unwanted items to the Autumn Hills Recycling & Disposal Facility located at 700 56th Avenue in Zeeland from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Autumn Hills will not accept hazardous or toxic items, any appliances with motors, generators or compressors (these must be removed or Autumn Hills will not accept). Proof of City residency will be required.

Riley Street Brush Drop-Off Site
Riley Street Brush Drop-Off Site - Located at 8971 Riley St, Zeeland, MI will re-open for the 2023 season on Friday, April 21, 2023. Seasonal hours are Fridays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and Saturdays from 8:00 AM to 12:00 Noon. City of Zeeland residents may drop off tree branches and shrub debris only-no grass clippings, leaves or other garden waste allowed.

Christmas Tree Disposal
City of Zeeland residents will be allowed to dispose of natural (no artificial trees will be accepted) Christmas trees, free of all decorations and lights, at the Riley Street Brush Drop-Off Facility (located on the north side of Riley between Centennial and Fairview) on:
Saturday, January 7, 2023 from 8:00 AM to 12:00 Noon
The site will be manned and proof of City residency will be required. For more information, please contact the City Services & Infrastructure Department at 772-0870
No curbside pick-up / No additional tree disposal service will be provided.
